Private wealth

Private wealth management

Private wealth management is our core service. It encompasses the ongoing oversight, coordination, and stewardship of a client's financial affairs across all areas of their wealth.

Relationships are managed by the Charlwood Wealth team rather than a single adviser. This ensures continuity, collective accountability, and access to specialist expertise as circumstances evolve.

Regular reviews, documented processes, and direct access to the team form the basis of how we work.

Investment

Investment management

Portfolios are managed on a discretionary basis. Decisions are made within agreed mandates using established asset allocation frameworks and systematic review cycles.

The emphasis is on risk control, diversification, and long-term capital preservation. We do not pursue market timing, speculative strategies, or short-term themes.

Clients receive structured reporting and annual reviews of mandate and risk profile.

Retirement

Retirement planning

We advise on the structuring of capital to support sustainable income throughout retirement. This includes pension consolidation, drawdown strategy, and the sequencing of withdrawals across account types.

Planning accounts for tax efficiency, anticipated expenditure, and long-term care considerations. Where appropriate, advice is coordinated with estate and intergenerational planning.

Succession

Estate and succession planning

We provide strategic coordination on the structuring and transfer of wealth across generations. This includes inheritance tax planning, the use of trusts, and working alongside solicitors and accountants.

Charlwood Wealth does not provide legal advice. Our role is to ensure the financial plan reflects the client's intentions and remains aligned with their legal and tax structures.

Consolidation

Pension consolidation and transfers

Most clients come to us with pensions and investments accumulated across decades: workplace schemes, personal pensions, ISAs held with different providers. We review what you hold, advise on what is worth keeping, and bring the rest together into one coherent, cost-effective plan.

This includes analysis of existing schemes, transfer advice where appropriate, and ongoing management as a single portfolio with a single point of contact.

Inheritance

Receiving an inheritance

An inheritance often arrives at a difficult moment and rarely arrives in the shape you would choose. We advise on the transition from a sum of money to a long-term plan: structuring the capital tax-efficiently, making use of the right wrappers, and integrating it with your existing pensions and investments.

Many of the families we serve first came to us this way, and stayed for the generation that followed.
