What happens if you get in touch
Most people have never appointed a wealth manager before, and few relish the prospect of a sales conversation. There isn't one. Our process is deliberate and unhurried, and it is set out below in full so that you know exactly what to expect at every stage.
An initial conversation
We begin with a conversation, at our cost and without obligation, whether at our office, at your home, or by telephone. Its purpose is simple: to understand what has prompted you to get in touch, and for both of us to judge whether we are the right fit. If we are not, we will say so, and where we can we will point you towards somewhere more suitable.
Understanding you
If you would like to go further, we take the time to understand your circumstances properly: your family, your objectives, your existing arrangements, your attitude to risk and your capacity to bear it. This stage is mostly about listening. Nothing is recommended until we understand what the money is for.
Our proposal
You receive our recommendations in writing, in plain English, with every cost set out before any work begins. We encourage you to take time to consider the proposal, to discuss it with family or with your other advisers, and to ask as many questions as you wish. There is no deadline and no pressure.
Implementation
Once you are comfortable, we handle the practicalities: account openings, transfers and paperwork, coordinated carefully and kept to a minimum on your side. We keep you informed at each stage, and nothing moves without your written authority.
Ongoing stewardship
Thereafter, your portfolio is overseen daily by our discretionary investment team, and your wider plan is reviewed with you formally at least once a year, and more often when circumstances change. Between reviews, you can always reach the people who actually manage your affairs.
Costs, agreed before anything else
Every cost is set out in writing before any work begins, and our ongoing fee is a single, all-inclusive charge. We explain our approach to charging in plain terms.
