What this notice covers

This notice explains how we handle personal information collected through this website. Clients of the firm receive a fuller privacy notice as part of their client documentation, covering the information we hold in the course of providing our services.

The information we collect

If you complete our enquiry form or contact us by email or telephone, we collect the information you choose to give us: typically your name, contact details, the nature of your enquiry, and anything you include in your message.

With your consent, we use Google Analytics to understand how the site is read. If you decline, no analytics cookies are set and the site works exactly the same. We do not use advertising technologies, and we do not sell or share browsing data. Full details are in our Cookies policy.

How we use it, and on what basis

We use the information you provide to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to take steps you have asked us to take before entering into an engagement. Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we rely on our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries made to us and, where applicable, on the need to take steps prior to entering into a contract with you.

We will not add you to a marketing list, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

Who we share it with

Your information may be handled on our behalf by the providers who support our website and email systems, under contracts that restrict how they may use it. We may also disclose information where the law requires us to do so, or to our regulator. We do not share enquiry information with third parties for their own purposes.

How long we keep it

Enquiry information is kept for as long as is needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards, after which it is deleted. If you become a client, information is retained in line with our regulatory record-keeping obligations, as explained in the client privacy notice.

Your rights

You have rights over your personal information, including the right to request access to it, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us using the details above.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you are entitled to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would welcome the chance to resolve any concern directly first.
